  • No adequate human data but suggested possible association between high doses of vitamin B1 and anencephaly, of vitamin B6 and phocomelia and infantile convulsions and of folic acid and increased pregnancy complications as bleeding, prematurity fetal distress and death.
  • Calcium should not be used in 1st trimester because of potential teratogenicity.
  • Safe in the last two trimesters but reported fetal hypomagnesemia and increased muscle tone with its use.
