  • In animals, an increase in fetal blood pressure, decrease in arterial pH and oxyhemoglobin saturation were reported with maternal I.V doses near term.
  • teratogenic in some animals given large doses producing cardiac anomalies.

  • Possible association with microcephaly, mental retardation, motor dysfunction, biliary atresia and bifid exencephalia if amphetamines used throughout pregnancy.
