  • sympathomimetic drugs are teratogenic in animals and in human producing minor malformation, inguinal hernia and clubfoot.
  • Limited human data about phenylpropanolamine but suggested association between 1st trimester exposure and eye, ear defects, hypospadias, polydactyly, cataract and pectus excavatum and between use anytime in pregnancy and congenital dislocation of the hip.
