  • Composition: Ferrous gluconate + Vit B1 + B2 +B6 + B12 + C + Folic acid + nicotinamide.

  • The recommended dietary allowance (rda) for iron in pregnancy is 50mg/day. The dose of Vit B2, B6, C, Folic acid and nicotinamide is within the (rda) but of Vit B1 and B12 is above the (rda) in pregnancy.
  • No well – controlled data, but suggested possible association between high doses of Vit B1 and anencephaly.
  • No fetal harm has been reported with high doses of Vit B12.

  • The rda for iron in lactation is 15mg/day and for Folic acid is 0.28mg/day. They are safe in breast feeding.
  • The doses of Vit B1 and B12 are above the rda, the doses of remaining vitamins are within the rda in lactation.
  • All are excreted into milk and safe.
