  • Use of ACE – inhibitors in the second and third trimesters can cause hypotension, reversible or irreversible renal failure, anuria, neonatal skull hypoplasia, and death in the fetus or neonate.
  • Other associated adverse effects include prematurity, intrauterine growth restriction, and patent ductus arteriosus.
  • Use of ACE inhibitors in the first trimester is not associated with all these adverse effects.
  • Inadequate human studies about Felodipine but suggested increased incidence of digital anomalies.
