  • The doses of Vit A, B2, B6, calcium pantothenate, foic acid, B12, D2, C, E , calcium and nicotinic acid (niacinamide) is within the recommended dietary allowance (rda) in pregnancy.
  • The dose of Vit B1 is above the rda, high doses suggested to cause anencephaly.
  • Calcium and magnesium should not be used in 1st trimester because of potential teratogenicity.
  • High chronic doses of magnesium may cause neonatal hypermagnesemia with respiratory distress, decreased muscle tone, drowsiness and cardiovascular impairment.
